Barry- I saw your comment-(pasted below)-
I just picked up one of these systems today and am having the exact same problems. How did yours get resolved? Was it defective? Did you get it fixed? Thanks in advance!
“Just got one of these, and can’t get it to start up on the initial setup.
I’m 99% sure its a defective unit, but figured I’d post to see if anyone has any suggestions before I pack it all back up to go for an exchange.
Here’s the behavior:
1) When powered up, the heavy duty fan spins up immediately and the whole unit is extremely loud
2) Monitor (just the VGA connection in place) shows no signal and goes to sleep — never see any sign of BIOS running or any other on-screen indication
3) Never see any indication on the keyboard that it looks to be up & running (caps lock/other LEDs not lighting up)
Looks like a nice little unit from a packaging/price point vs capability standpoint, but I’m of course disappointed to have what looks to be little more than a boat anchor at this time.
Any one out there know anything obvious I might be missing? I’ve set up hundreds of computers and am stumped, just want to see if anyone has any ideas before I go for an exchange (none are currently in stock in any area stores, and the Acer repair service route is a 10+ day turnaround…)”
just want to say thank you for all the work you put into finding the drivers to get xp installed and i am certain that there will be many more ppl thanking you that buy this system for the imput you have given towards this tower! keep up the good work!! Wayne

The x3200 is a good machine, also includes two high-speed PCI Express 2.0 x8, one PCI Express x4 (dedicated to the RAID controller), and two PCI X slots, all full-length and standard height.
The choice is silly, we recently bought an IBM x300 m3 – good choice as servers go
X3200 – What a machine, we especially love the high speed remote redirection of PCI video, keyboard and mouse
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I have been looking all over the web for this service manual. Need to do some work on my girlfriend’s system and couldn’t find the motherboard diagram anywhere. I am in your debt, kind sir!
some truly superb information, Sword lily I observed this.
There are so several big releases coming to the gaming entire world in the following few a long time that quite a few gamers are getting to be confused and starting to wonder if they are going to be capable to get a console gaming system in the long run that has a remote handle at all. The fast solution to this is yes, the authentic question is what that remote will glimpse like and how it will interact with the gaming console. Hardcore video games will by no means give up the remote control absolutely mainly because it presents way to very much precision and management that cannot be in comparison to any motion based process controls at this stage in time.
Wow, good post. I love stuff like this.
Heya i’m for the first time here. I found this board and I find It really useful & it helped me out a lot. I hope to give something back and help others like you aided me.
What an incredible site. I bought this used Acer Aspire X1200 and needed to change the optical drive, but for the life of me couldn’t figure out how to get it out of the case. I went online looking for a manual or any video on how to get the faceplate off and couldn’t find a thing. Acer’s support site had replaced their manual with some ridiculous legal form signed “Easy Lai.” I called them and got no where fast and told them about their website page, but with my call going to India there was no concern. I took it to a repair shop and they had the same trouble getting the faceplate off. Finally, I found your site which had a downloadable manual for the machine. Turns out we were all doing it right, just that some idiot before us had broken the retaining clip and ended up gluing the case to the frame with epoxy. I was able to remove it cleanly once I knew this and replace the drive. You’re the Best! Thanks a lot. Jesse.
I just like the helpful information you provide on your articles.
